17. Taking Walks Without Time To Explore

Dogs belong in nature. Even breeds and individual animals that can live comfortably indoors need to truly stretch their legs from time to time. You can’t just take them out, drag them around for five minutes, and expect them to be satisfied.
Dogs need to be able to explore, to walk around and smell all sorts of things that capture its attention. You don’t have to give it full reign, but you do need to let it indulge the impulses you force it to ignore 95% of the time. Let it have its fun.

A lot of these are just common sense (which I know is sadly lacking in some folks) but it all depends on the dog. Besides that, being the incredibly intuitive and sensitive creatures that they are, they will adapt to how you express affection. Our dogs will lick our faces off if we let them, and we kiss their little heads in return.

Dogs love car rides, and of course you shouldn’t give them spoiled food!!! Most of these are common sense, but we know dogs have more common sense than most people!!!
