25. Petting Them Too Hard

Oof, ouch, ow. Some dogs a hardier than others, but it still isn’t fun to be roughed up when you’re getting pet. If you’ve ever had something muss up your hair or give you too hard of a squeeze when they’re hugging you, then you know just how your dog feels.
Only your dog doesn’t have the language to tell you that what you’re doing is uncomfortable! They might wiggle away, or avoid you when they see you coming for a pat. Be aware of your dog’s body language.
Nobody likes to get pet too hard, especially not your pup. This goes double for dogs who are smaller than you by a few hundred pounds!

A lot of these are just common sense (which I know is sadly lacking in some folks) but it all depends on the dog. Besides that, being the incredibly intuitive and sensitive creatures that they are, they will adapt to how you express affection. Our dogs will lick our faces off if we let them, and we kiss their little heads in return.

Dogs love car rides, and of course you shouldn’t give them spoiled food!!! Most of these are common sense, but we know dogs have more common sense than most people!!!
