15. Freaky Fireworks

You might love the sights, sounds, and smells related to fireworks but dogs hate them all. Dogs absolutely abhor loud sounds, which also explains the way they react around thunder and lightening. Once again, remember that dogs don’t have the higher thinking abilities to understand what’s going on.
All they know is that something crazy is happening and they don’t understand it. If you can, try and keep your dogs away from fireworks. Don’t take them out to watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July. In fact, you really shouldn’t leave even leave them alone when fireworks are going off.
Close the doors tight, move away from the windows, and huddle up with your dog, so it knows its safe even as the world seems to explode all around it.

A lot of these are just common sense (which I know is sadly lacking in some folks) but it all depends on the dog. Besides that, being the incredibly intuitive and sensitive creatures that they are, they will adapt to how you express affection. Our dogs will lick our faces off if we let them, and we kiss their little heads in return.

Dogs love car rides, and of course you shouldn’t give them spoiled food!!! Most of these are common sense, but we know dogs have more common sense than most people!!!
