6. Not Considering The Breed’s Needs

Some dog breeds require more care than others. If you are neglecting the needs of your dog based on their breed type, you could be putting them at risk of a shorter life.
For instance, if you have a pug, or another dog with a short nose, you have to pay attention to their breathing. This isn’t a concern with breeds that don’t have respiratory issues. Do some research or talk to your vet about the specific breed needs of your pup. You could add valuable years to their life!
