18. Pushing Them Too Hard

Raising a healthy dog can be a bit of a balancing act. Letting them lounge around all day isn’t good, but neither is pushing them beyond their limits. If your dog seems too tired to run anymore then pushing it to continue running isn’t necessarily a good move.
Dogs have muscles that take time to develop; you can’t make a dog go from couch potato to race runner at the snap of your finger. You should also consider your dog’s breed and age. Younger dogs can handle more work than their older counterparts.
