Like other fruits that have pits, plums are not a fruit you want to give to your dog.
Inside the plum is a pit, which contains traces of cyanide much like apple cords and persimmon pits.
The cyanide poses a danger to your dog in and of itself, but the put can also become stuck in your dog’s throat, causing them to choke.
If swallowed, the pit can cause intestinal blockage in small dogs.
It’s best to keep these fruits away from your pup.
