    Don’t be so quick to believe that cross-breeds are generally healthier than purebred dogs. If both the mother & the father of a pup have a damaged gene that is recessive, the pups will inherit it, too. Cross-breeds (aka “Designer Dogs” or “Mutts”) are fads, and fine for pets, but not for breeding. And not if you want AKC papers. Just sayin’.

    Nearly half of all dogs that arrive in American shelters are euthanized because of a lack of adopters and space. That equals 80,000 per week…but hey, lets make more mutts!
