33. Marilyn’s name appeared as Norma Jeane Mortensen on her birth certificate. Her first stage name idea was Jean Adair, and she didn’t settle on “Marilyn Monroe” until 1956.
You might think that the name of Marilyn Monroe would have been established prior to 1956, but that’s not the case. It’s even crazier to think is that she was only as famous as she was for about six years. It seems like she must have been around longer!
What a shame her career was so short.
