Pugs are fun-loving, friendly and very social, and make for very rewarding and truly amazing companions. Their goals in life are simple… to make you happy and snuggle as much as possible.
While they enjoy a good nap, they are also always up for some playtime… which usually consists of running in circles.
All dogs are of course individuals, and this is never truer than for the pug.
But nevertheless, the pug breed as a whole shares a range of almost universal personality traits that all pug lovers and owners will be intimately familiar with.
If you own a pug, you can definitely relate to these 24 things.

The males were never protective. Always friendly to everyone and tolerant of other dogs. Maggie is super protective of me especially (never even thought pugs were capable of this!!) and wants to attack any dog we see! She’s good with most people but barks aggressively at certain men, esp anyone who comes to do any work at the house. We got her when she was two. Her third home in her two short years. I know she wasn’t properly socialized as a young dog which may be part of the issue. She’s a true bossy little alpha.
