Dachshund
These little weiner dogs are extremely protective and alert, and they have been known to save their families from certain peril. Those traits, however, do mean that Dachshunds are quite clingy and dependent on a healthy home environment.
But they’re fairly low-maintenance with enough daily exercise, making them a great companion — especially if you always want a pooch by your side.
