  1. Cross breeding the EB created the OEB. Cross breeding usually lessens the bad hereditary flaws that an animal has. That’s why mutts in general live longer and have fewer health problems than purebreds.

  2. Chandra Libbus Chris Brewer they in fact are healthier. They were cross bred with healthier breeds that have less pushed in faces and longer lifespans. Mutts are always healthier than purebreds.

  3. Loving most of the comments. I you truly love dogs, you don’t support irresponsible breeding. I own a Yorkie, Chihuahua mix (notice I don’t use the stupid “designer dog” name) but he’s adopted. I would consider having another but it would have to be adopted too b/c I only support responsible breeders.
