    I bought one from a breeder in April. I’ve already had to out almost 1000.00 into her already. She was real sick when we got her and she had an eye issue. Now the breeder says she will reimburse me $500.00, but has failed to get back with me on it. This is our 3rd one. The first two were bought from a friend. They died in unfortunate accidents. Don’t get me wrong…..I am in love with my little Zoey Mae, but I won’t buy from her again!!!

    My bulldog was $2500, and has already accrued $22,000 in vet bills in five years. She’s a papered champion line bulldog from a reputable breeder, and I knew what I was getting into, but the poor thing has had her trachea, soft palate, and nostrils shaved because she couldn’t breathe, and is allergic to grass and bees. Definitely not a breed for a casual or first time owner, it takes love and commitment, and most importantly, education to give them the life they deserve. I love mine to death, and hate seeing people treating them like this.

    I have to disagree to a certain extent. For example my bully pit mix has a bit of a longer snout and none of the breathing problems of a purebred EB. We also had an EB Boxer Mix, giving him longer legs and less joint problems.

    disagreement is one of those fun things and although I learned to not attend every argument that I am invited to in this case I will… the comment was .. you can not love Bulldogs and love this.. and I stand by it.. sadly with mixed breeds you run the same dna risk of purebreds ..although, you have more control of end product with a purebred
