Dogs are probably one of the most diverse-looking species on the planet. Thousands of years of breeding has created a wide range of distinctive breeds with drastically different colors, coats, sizes and shapes.

But what happens when you take some of these distinctive breeds and combine their most notable properties? You get dogs like these adorable cuties, who combine the best of both of their breeds.

    I have a beautiful Dachshund/Beagle mix. She is wonderful in every way.

    As for the topic of crossbreeding, I, personally, have no problem with it so long as the breeder is breeding health-tested, temperamentally-sound dogs with a purpose (other than making a quick buck and capitalizing on trends) in mind. Outcrossing with a meaningful purpose behind a well-thought out breeding can actually improve some breeds (think Dalmatian crossed with a Pointer).

    I do worry that posts like these encourage people to search out these mixes, allowing bad breeders to capitalize on public ignorance, but I won’t condemn all breeders that breed mixes. Although definitely in the minority, there are some reputable ones out there.

    The best response I’ve seen on here. Some cross breeds can have health benefits however there is a slim chance of actually cross breeding them benefits. Example the labradoodle. The man that started it regrets it because it’s made them a designer breed, which has put a price on them. It’s a shame as there are people out there just in it for the money. X
