There are a bunch of things we can remind ourselves to be grateful for as we near Thanksgiving, but losing our dog for close to a year isn’t one of them.
This is an incredible story about Chips, a 4-year-old pug who left home last Thanksgiving near San Antonio, Texas and somehow ended up 650 miles away in Petal, Mississippi.
Chips was very lucky to have been found by a good Samaritan in the parking lot of a local store, and even luckier to be taken to this pet hospital where it was discovered that Chips had a microchip.
Chips the pug is on his way home, nearly a year after disappearing from his owners, Mark Becker and Joni Harrel's lives after the holiday.
After waiting so long for him to return, it’s understandable that some pup parents would give up hope of reuniting with their best friend.

This melts my heart! 🙂
Our pug Bowser ran away back in 2012. It absolutely broke my heart. We have another pug named Penny and she happens to be Bowser’s half-sister. She’s my world. I often hope that one day we’ll be reunited with Bowser. ♡

Lucky someone brought him to the vet. Mine is microchip pedal too. But most who find pugs keep them and just never bring them to a vet.
