Long-Lost Pug Makes Incredible Journey to Get Home

Chips the Pug must have been feeling adventurous; perhaps he was a little ashamed of the amount of turkey he ate (secretively, of course) during the holiday. He hitchhiked all the way from San Antonio, Texas to Petal, Mississippi—a 650 mile trip, before ending the year-long soirée alone in a parking lot.

By some miracle of miracles, one caring human picked up his wrinkly butt and took him to a nearby vet, who found Chips’ microchip and gave his humans the best phone call they’ve ever received.

When asked how it feels to get their snuffly little Pug back, Harrel exclaimed:

“Wonderful! Wonderful! I just, I want to cry it’s so good. It’s so good.”

And Becker tells us perfectly what we already know—that Chips is part of the family, and they couldn’t be happier.

On behalf of Chips’ wonderful family, we want to thank the kind person who took the initiative to bring him to the vet. It made all the difference.

  1. So, I lost my bevoled rat terrier Bessie (17) a few days ago. She had been my pug Spanky’ s (11) constant companion since he was 8 weeks old and came to us. He is very lost and lethargic. He is eating ok( he is a pug afterall) but I can’t seem to get him out of his depression. He really does not like other dogs very much. Only her.
