Vet Spends 4 Hours In Cold Doghouse At Night, Shows How Dogs Suffer In The Cold

Veterinarian Dr. Ernie Ward has always been promoting safe living conditions for dogs, especially in winter.

However, he is frustrated by the number of people who consider “doghouses” and “blankets” to be adequate protection for dogs in the freezing temperatures.

In a passionate campaign to prove his point, Dr. Ernie decided to camp for a night in a doghouse and broadcast his experience to pet owners.

He was completely geared up in heavy winter clothing for his stay, something which furry dogs don’t have. Despite the layers, Dr. Ernie was only able to endure 4 hours inside the dog house.

In this video, we see an overview of Dr. Ernie’s time in the doghouse. The temperatures kept dropping by the hour and the vet was having a visibly traumatizing experience.

He shivered uncontrollably and soon went numb. By the end of 4 hours, the temperature had dropped to 15F and Dr. Ernie knew that he couldn’t take it anymore.

At the end of his experience, Dr. Ernie was even more firm in his belief that pets deserve to be indoors during winters, irrespective of breed. No pet deserves to go through this suffering.

He also requested people to report the homeless animals to the authorities so that they can be shifted to a shelter. Let’s spread awareness and make sure people bring dogs indoors when it’s cold!
