I’ve had so many tell me that “people food” is not good for dogs. Is this true ? Also canned dog food can make their breath stick.

Interesting! Might have to try some of these. I’m guessing it’d be cheaper than the dog food were buying, just more time consuming

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been looking for inexpensive recipies for dog food, because I’ve had to switch one of my dogs food over five times (she’s a few months over two years). She just rarely eats and she’s skinny, but her health record is clean. I hope this will put an extra pound or two on her. Thanks again!

Amanda – you could also use satin balls as a treat. I’ve done this for my dogs following illnesses, and I can testify it works. It also makes for some nice shiny coats, which is why breeders feed this (or other raw) leading up to a dog show. It freezes well, and you can defrost however much you need for 2-3 days at a time. I recommend mixing it up, rolling it into meatball sized balls and start out feeding 3-4 per day. It’s a good training treat too! After a couple of weeks, you can increase or decrease the amount you give – based on the results you see.

GREAT recipes…I took my boys off dry dog food a little over a year ago because of numerous recalls on so many and I wanted to make sure I was able to monitor what their food was made of without concern. I also did not like that most dry dog foods have carcinogen exposure yet another cancer causing exposure, if we watch our foods for additives and other things dangerous to our health we owe it to our dogs to do the same. I have made the Woof Loaf and the Meatballs. I sub different veges (chopped bell peppers, shredded zucchini, riced cauliflower) and add a few things or use ground turkey, ground chicken or beef. Sometimes I use two different meats. I also have added dried cranberries to the loaf as well. My dogs love it. It gives everything they need all in one. Prep is easy and freezes well. Their coats are great too. I also make my own calcium from egg shells for them and its so easy.
