The German Shepherd Dog is a natural protector and so adaptable and intelligent that he has performed just about every job known to dog. If he had opposable thumbs, he would be unstoppable.
They are highly intelligent and will not be content to live life as a couch potato. He's a dog of action, and needs to live with an active person who will give him a job worthy of his talents.
German Shepherds love children and make great family dogs when they are given early socialization and training.
Most of us think of the German Shepherd as a black and tan dog, but they can also be sable and solid black.
Dogs with white, blue or liver-colored coats are frowned upon by breeders, so don’t fall for marketing claims that those colors are “rare” and command a higher price.
These are some of the things we probably already know about German Shepherd dogs if we live with one. However, there are a few things all German Shepherd owners must remember about these wonderful companions.
Find out the 10 Things German Shepherd Owners Must Never Forget on the next page! The last one brought me to tears… :'(

Um once issue with this, no real reason why breeders frown on white coats. If you do research you realize that is was an ungrounded arbitrary stigma that resulted in the white coated German shepherds in receiving proper conditioning as working dogs. Smh no academic integrity

It’s been 2 years since I lost my beloved Harley not a day goes by that my heart doesn’t ache for her. That dog help me when my dad died and through the bouts of depression afterwards. Her footprints are forever etched within my heart.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I understand. I just lost the most amazing companion of over 7 years to an accident. The pain is unreal. Buddy was a beautiful sable GSD. Loyal with unlimited love.

Caution – Don’t trust dog breeders. They breed from the same blood line and our baby was born with Hip dysplasia. Our vet said one of his parents had it, or a grand parent..Our Hearts are broke and been crying for days. We found out Monday. My Husband and I took our 17 month old full blooded German shepherd to the vet for his check up and 3 year rabies shot. The vet noticed our Max not standing right. Did X – rays to show the worst / awful. Thing . He was bread anyway and I believe the breeder knew this for the money. He’s only 17 months and will be crippled by the age 5……….I’ve been praying to God everyday for help and why ? We can’t imagine our life without him……So torn and so heartbroken !

Hell has no fury as a Women’s scorn; but her second in command can somewhat equal that if some idiot should decide to harm your child that is the families German Shepherd (Friend, Nursemaid and Protector to the death)
