12. Dogs are able to “see” more clearly by using their whiskers. This allows them to sense the slightest changes in air pressure, and even gives them a special sort of “night vision!”
These whiskers are called their “vibrissae.” The follicles that are located at the base of each one of these funny little hairs are actually jam-packed with nerve endings.
These nerve endings in turn are responsible for sending signals to the dog’s brain. It’s amazing what those little hairs can do.
