Spending time in a pound or animal shelter is stressful for most animals. Not only are they without individual attention and affection, but they live their lives in tiny cages, surrounded by the constant din of animals crying out.
It becomes a soul-crushing prison…and for this dog, it’s all she knew.

Bella, as she came to be known, spend her entire life in a pound in Romania. She didn’t have a family, a bed, or even soft toys. Her world was her tiny cage.
When Howl of a Dog discovered her, they knew that she deserved better. So, they took her out of the prison cell she spent so much time in.

As soon as she was taken out of the public pound, she cuddled up to her rescuer and fell asleep. It was clear she was so grateful and happy to finally be free of her concrete kennel.
Howl of a Dog lovingly named her Bella and took her to the vet. Even while she was being examined, she was affectionately cuddled up to those that saved her.

Her skin was raw from being attacked by fleas and she was constantly scratching. So, the first order of business was to give her a medicated bath to soothe her. Bella closed her eyes and enjoyed all of the attention.

Her saviors brought her back to the rescue to let her become accustomed to her freedom at her own pace. Since she hadn’t experienced the world before, she was extremely shy. But, her rescuers let her explore the world as slowly as she wanted.
Soon, she began warming up to new people and animals, becoming a happy-go-lucky girl! She’s now available for adoption around the globe and soon will find a forever home.
