They are very easy going. Mine loves just about anyone. Mine is very smart, was not difficult to potty train. Gets along with my cats. He is 12 but still always by my side. When I go to work he sleeps in his bed until I get home. I never have had him tear up anything!

  1. If you have a “nippy” Pug, then something is going on in your home…do you have chikdren?? Children who have not been taught how to interact with a dog, or children that are very young, can hurt the dog unintentionally, or scare the dog….this will result in a nervous dog. And can lead to nipping. Also a chaotic home, or a home where there is a lot of yelling, loud noises, and or fighting can lead to a neurotic dog. There has to be a reason your dog is upset. Take a good honest look at your surroundings, and who is handling the dog. I hope you do the right thing. I was a dog rehabilitatior for 26 years, and have owned rescue Pugs for the last 57 years…

  2. I have owned rescue Pugs for the past 59 years, and volunteer at a Pug rescue…I have had a few other dogs also!!! But I have to say without a doubt that pugs are by far the most loving liyal dogs in the world!! YES I AM BIASED with good reasons!!! Pugs tend to bond very strongly with one person, but will adore everyone in the family. I raised two dayghters with pugs, they never ever tried to bite, or growl, even when their ears got twisted up, and their tails pulled!! I don’t recommend toddlers to be around any dog, unless you can monitor them all the time, but if you are looking for a great family dog that is loyal and super friendly with a great disposition, you will not go wrong with a pug!! The only draw back I can think of is they shed….a LOT. You need to brush them every day, and clean their face folds and ears, they also tend to hate having their nails clipped, I found a solution to this by training them to an electric nail file, it does a great job with no pain!! I recommend them for every breed!! Pugs may be a little dog, but they have HUGE personalities!!! I wish you all the best with your new friend!!!
