All dogs being “family” dogs depend on how they are raised and how much they are socialized. My 1st set of pugs were stand-offish, these 2 are therapy pugs. I am not fond of single dogs, they need each other. They belong in a pack. Just my humble opinion.

Could not would not live without my baby. Bailey is so part of our family. We have her for a year now. What makes it is that she thinks she is human, So entertaining so loved. No other breed for us. Once you have had a pug you will never turn back. Never a true word said.
