Woman Tells Shelter To Kill Her Dog Because She Was ‘Sick’ Of Her

Mitsie the beagle has had a rough go of things throughout the course of her life and while this dog has certainly struggled to find her place in this world, many of these problems can be attributed to the terrible upbringing that she was saddled with. Pets are no different from people, in the sense that their parents can make or break their ability to live a happy and healthy life.

After spending 11 years with her owners, Mitsie was unceremoniously abandoned and we cannot believe that they would treat her in such a harsh and unforgiving manner. Once her owners had abandoned her, it did not take long before she ended up living in an Atlanta shelter. The request that Mitsie’s mother made before giving the dog up will leave you shocked and dismayed. It may even make your blood run cold.

The shelter staff was asked to put Mitsie to sleep by her former owner. This request was not made because the dog was sick and needed to be put out of her misery, it was made because this mother was tired of the dog. Of course, this sweet and lovable dog was not put to sleep by the kind shelter staff. Instead, they told the story of this awful mother on their Facebook page, altering the world and letting them know what Mitsie had endured.

The story touched hearts everywhere and Mitsie had no shortage of offers when it came time to find a new forever home. Even though this beagle is a senior dog, she still has many suitors and it is great to see that no one else shares her mother’s point of view when it comes to her level of usefulness.

While there are numerous pet owners out there who do not see the value of owning an older animal, those who are more willing to be open minded on the matter are already enjoying the company of senior dogs and cats on a regular basis.

I'm an 11 year old beagle whose wonderful owner dumped me here. She told the shelter staff to kill me. She said she was sick of me and that was her reason for surrendering me. I can't believe I was her friend for all these years. What a fool I was to not sense the truth. I probably knew, but chose to accept my fate and now look at me.I've got my paws up here begging for someone out there to bring me home for Easter. I'm in a shelter and I don't understand why my owner did this to me. I have this heavy feeling in my heart and stomach and can barely breathe thinking about what is going to happen. Or it could be that feeling you get when a relationship you valued is completely OVER! Out of no where! You are my chance. Please restore my faith in humankind. Beagles live long lives! Although I want to turn back the clock to be young again, I regret that I have not figured out how. I need a local foster home today and donations to save my life.     I would think this fog was re homed a sanctuary would try to re home rather than murder for a reason like that. The owner should be blacklisted and never be allowed to have animals again horrible vile person.

    How sad that woman must be to treat this sweet girl this way.
    When you take a dog, any animal, it’s for life.
    I ran a ferret rescue for years. One day the pregnant teen across the street asks me to take her ferret…. refraining from snide comments I agree. Years later she comes up… I’ll take him back now. (Sure after 2 years of food, vet bills, care and attachment…. After you dumped him). I said, he is very happy where he is. He lived with us for 6 more years. He took his last breath in our arms. He was loved.

    Call me a keyboard warrior but I wouldn’t have much of an issue taking this owner out back and putting her down. Hell I’d go even as far as cutting her up in little pieces and feeding her the the animals. I know I sound like a crazy$#%&!@* but I’m a dysfunctional veteran and I have an excuse

    Omg what cold hearted selfish people how can anyone abandon their fur baby stories like this make my blood boil I just hope the owners lose their home thank god she has found a loving home god bless you people for not putting her down

    This happened a while back and one day later she was rescued. Angels Among Us shared the wonderful news:
    “Mitsie, the senior beagle, has left the shelter thanks to all those who donated and shared. We can’t thank you enough! We are happy to announce that she is heartworm negative! She is so grateful as are we for so many reasons this morning. She will never have an owner dump her again!”

    I hear really stupid things sometimes since I am with a rescue. Such as someone went and got a dog they couldn’t house train him so they shocked him with a remote collar the 5 hours they were home each day every time he peed or pooped in the house. They said that was the only way you could house break a dog and there was something wrong with this dog because he kept going in the house. He went into foster care and the shock collar was never used on him again once he was in his foster home he stopped going potty in the house. That says a lot
