Woman Tells Shelter To Kill Her Dog Because She Was ‘Sick’ Of Her

Mitsie the beagle has had a rough go of things throughout the course of her life and while this dog has certainly struggled to find her place in this world, many of these problems can be attributed to the terrible upbringing that she was saddled with. Pets are no different from people, in the sense that their parents can make or break their ability to live a happy and healthy life.

After spending 11 years with her owners, Mitsie was unceremoniously abandoned and we cannot believe that they would treat her in such a harsh and unforgiving manner. Once her owners had abandoned her, it did not take long before she ended up living in an Atlanta shelter. The request that Mitsie’s mother made before giving the dog up will leave you shocked and dismayed. It may even make your blood run cold.

The shelter staff was asked to put Mitsie to sleep by her former owner. This request was not made because the dog was sick and needed to be put out of her misery, it was made because this mother was tired of the dog. Of course, this sweet and lovable dog was not put to sleep by the kind shelter staff. Instead, they told the story of this awful mother on their Facebook page, altering the world and letting them know what Mitsie had endured.

The story touched hearts everywhere and Mitsie had no shortage of offers when it came time to find a new forever home. Even though this beagle is a senior dog, she still has many suitors and it is great to see that no one else shares her mother’s point of view when it comes to her level of usefulness.

If you would like to see more of Mitsie in action, be sure to check out the awesome video below. While there are numerous pet owners out there who do not see the value of owning an older animal, those who are more willing to be open minded on the matter are already enjoying the company of senior dogs and cats on a regular basis.

Once you have seen this video for yourself, take a moment to pass it along to your friends and family members as soon as possible. Let’s all do our part to raise awareness when it comes to senior pets and their ability to serve as viable companions as they continue to age.

I'm an 11 year old beagle whose wonderful owner dumped me here. She told the shelter staff to kill me. She said she was sick of me and that was her reason for surrendering me. I can't believe I was her friend for all these years. What a fool I was to not sense the truth. I probably knew, but chose to accept my fate and now look at me.I've got my paws up here begging for someone out there to bring me home for Easter. I'm in a shelter and I don't understand why my owner did this to me. I have this heavy feeling in my heart and stomach and can barely breathe thinking about what is going to happen. Or it could be that feeling you get when a relationship you valued is completely OVER! Out of no where! You are my chance. Please restore my faith in humankind. Beagles live long lives! Although I want to turn back the clock to be young again, I regret that I have not figured out how. I need a local foster home today and donations to save my life. Donate in her precious name at www.angelsrescue.org/donate Local folks, please apply to foster Mittsie at www.angelsrescue.org/foster Please share quick! Our vets are full and she must find a place to go! Thank you a million from AAU and this little old princess! Anything extra she gets on funds will help save another life. XoxoAtlanta, GA USA

  1. Mitsie I love you.I once had lots of children of Bhunti.they all died after 14 years of their glorious & loving life.Right now i have again 7 .They are very loving&healthy.I wish i could share you with them.Lots of love.

  2. I have a senior his name is Wrangler he is a mini Doxie he was 12yrs old when I got home from the shelter. I saw him on the internet it was instant love for me I knew that was my dog. I just recently came out of transitional housing after being diagnosed with depression. So he was kept me going. So want if he takes up most of bed and basically stays in lap most of the day only to get off of my lap to take care of his business and go visit whomever happens to be outside while we are walking around our complex. He helped me alot after I had knee surgery on both knees it was just like he understood want was going on with me. He is a great friend.
