4. Staring Into Their Eyes

Sometimes it’s cute to get into a staring contest with your dog, but your dog doesn’t see things the same way as you.
In the animal world a stare down is a sign of aggression. You may be able to get away with it if the dog is your own. However, when encountering an unknown dog it would be wiser not to get into a stare down as this could make the dog feel threatened.
If the dog feels it is in danger, the next thing that could happen is that you will find yourself getting bit.
Don’t stare for too long when you come across a dog you don’t know!
