24. Giving Nasty Medicine

Nasty medicine tastes bad, even if it’s for their own good. Remember when you were a kid, and you absolutely hated choking down cough medicine, or pills that tasted bitter? Dogs are the same way – they’re basically just big kids! And nasty medicine doesn’t taste good, so why should they make it easy to give it to them?
Fortunately, there’s all kinds of ways to give a dog medicine where they won’t even taste it – pill pockets if it’s a pill, or mixing it in with wet food if it’s liquid medicine. That way, your dog will still get the medicine that they need, but they won’t look at you with those big brown eyes of betrayal when you have to force them to take the medicine.
