Meet the super-rare cuties that are taking the internet by storm— long-haired purebred French bulldogs.

According to Frenchie Mania, these lion-eared Frenchies are the result of two parents carrying an extremely rare and recessive gene that doesn’t typically appear in the breed.

We found five of these majestic unicorns of dog-dom on Instagram for you to obsess over.

  1. Pretty sure this is bogus just like the “rare recessive trait for long haired whippets” which turned out to be a big oops from a popular well-known breeder that let some whippets run around with their shelties then lied about it to protect their reputation. Until some whippets were treated with ivermectin and alarmingly died or almost died (ivermectin crosses the blood/brain barrier in collies and shelties). Oops! And now modern DNA tests have revealed the truth. I’m sure these are just mixes also, probably pomeranians. Shameful trying to deceive people into ponying up cash for mixed breeds.
