Meet the super-rare cuties that are taking the internet by storm— long-haired purebred French bulldogs.
According to Frenchie Mania, these lion-eared Frenchies are the result of two parents carrying an extremely rare and recessive gene that doesn’t typically appear in the breed.
We found five of these majestic unicorns of dog-dom on Instagram for you to obsess over.

Barbara Greenman: Hey, I’m moving to N.C. in June. Hopefully my boy can handle it. He is a California dog & when we lived in Virginia he had allergies. Since getting back to Cali, he’s been fine. We’ll see if he has to be put back on meds for seasonal allergies. Golly gee.

Then this could be said for greeders who breed unrecognized colours that are caused by breeding 2 dogs that have the gene for blue,Merle, cream ,black and tan and selling for ridiculously high prices

You wouldn’t test for the long coat gene either just colour

Blue is not a true colour for this breed again created by breeding 2 dogs with recessive genes same thing as the long hair coat is it not!

Showed this pic to my friend who is a judges in the UK & US and in 40 years as a breeder he has never seen one and said this is no way pure breed genetic mutation.

Lee Poulton The Wolf? Yogi Bear? The stuffing out of a cushion? How hot would this poor dog get in the summer!? Greeders always claim the recessive gene card to justify their ‘rare’ breeds. The ‘long haired’ recessive gene may well exist, just not within 100% pure bred French Bulldog geneology. There MUST have been a cross somewhere with a long haired breed hence the long haired gene. They probably got their info from ‘The Recessive Gene Book for Dummies’ x
