According to Frenchie Mania, these lion-eared Frenchies are the result of two parents carrying an extremely rare and recessive gene that doesn’t typically appear in the breed.

    In rare instances a purebred frenchie will be born with long hair due to a recessive gene being active. But these dogs pictured are mutts, not real frenchies. Their face is cute but not correct.

    I am Matilda’s owner. She too didn’t cost thousands. She’s also not a mix. If people don’t like the way she looks, I don’t care. I don’t appreciate her (or Burney or any of the others) being used in articles such as this for people to spout hatred. She’s a much loved family pet and that’s all

    I don’t think anyone questions whether they are adorable. They are. If you don’t like the hatred post the DNA and genetic testing results. That way the proof is there. I get it you rescued them. You had nothing to do with breeding them. People can’t question DNA results. With the way the world is today people’s word mean nothing. You can say all day their pure bred, but the proof is in the DNA.
