According to Frenchie Mania, these lion-eared Frenchies are the result of two parents carrying an extremely rare and recessive gene that doesn’t typically appear in the breed.

    I Love Chihuahuas…at what point did you think this was a good idea to promote? This Internet “storm” will end just like all the others…in over populated high kill shelters and maxed out rescues. This was just completely irresponsible. People can disagree with me, and will I’m sure, but these novelty dogs are the ones who die and suffer at the hands of breeders. Take a tour of a puppy mill…turn you might think twice about promoting things like this.

    sad – even if this is only a recessive gene it’s still not breed standard. it’s a defect….I had a white BT same thing…a defect and not breed standard. does not make the dogs worth more money but instead makes them worth less. do your homework on the breed standards.
