According to Frenchie Mania, these lion-eared Frenchies are the result of two parents carrying an extremely rare and recessive gene that doesn’t typically appear in the breed.

    A French bulldog does not carry the long coat gene, these dogs pictured above are not rare they are cross bred! French bulldogs are not one of the breeds that carry the FGF5 gene!

    Stop saying it is a cross breed as you do not know either. Unless you have physically seen the dogs and have their records to confirm their bloodline don’t be little people because you bought from a bad breeder. Furthermore, genetic mutation is a beautiful and unexplainable occurrence which can most certainly make these dogs pure breeds.
