This funny looking pooch, though small, makes an excellent alarm system! They’re also good at getting rid of unwanted mice or rats in your home. They’re extremely sweet and become quickly attached to their human.

Be cautious around other animals and children, however, because Dachshund’s tend to be picky about their companions, and may try to nip other animals or small children.

Because of the shape of their body, Dachshunds are prone to health problems if they gain too much weight.
