Blind, 18-Year-Old Shelter Dog Meets Her First Person And Refuses To Let Go

An 18-year-old senior Dachshund had certainly seen better days, but she didn’t want it to end like this at the shelter. The blind dog was abandoned by her old family, and all she wanted was to feel love again.

Muneca had just about lost it all in life: her family, her home, and her vision. And all she wanted was to be able to connect with someone again and feel love.

So when she met her very first person at the shelter, she refused to let go. It was longtime volunteer Elaine Seamans who came to visit Muneca, and the blind dog didn’t hesitate to leap into her arms.

On hand was photographer John Hwang, and it was one of his photos that changed everything for Muneca. It was shared on Facebook, and it caught the attention of a rescue group called Frosted Faces Foundation.

They took Muneca in and got her to a veterinarian for a checkup. She checked out okay for a senior dog, and then she was off to a foster home.

The sweet senior Dachshund was placed with a loving foster family until she found her forever home. It’s such an amazing thing that Muneca was able to find love again so late in life. And she deserves it more than anything.
