For the past few weeks we’ve all been staying home because of the coronavirus pandemic. But as many people have found out, nothing helps you get through self-isolation like having a good dog by your side.
It’s been good news for short-staffed animal shelters, who have been finding homes for their animals, whether it be through adoption or fostering.
But sometimes what starts as a temporary fostering situation turns into something more. Sometimes you fall in love and just decide to keep the pet yourself—while this is sometimes called a “foster fail,” it’s a wonderful outcome.
That was the case for one dog foster mom… who just happens to be one of the biggest stars in the world.
Singer Billie Eilish is one of the fastest-rising music stars of the past few years — at just 18 years old, she’s already swept the Grammys and had a chart-topping single.
You may know her for songs like “Bad Guy” or the new James Bond theme, but what you may not know is that she’s a huge animal lover.
Eilish already has two rescue pets of her own, including a dog named Pepper and a cat named Misha.
But while stuck inside during coronavirus social distancing, the pop star took the opportunity to foster two pit bull puppies, one black and one gray, from Angel City Pit Bulls.
The pups were named Jem and Maude, after characters from To Kill a Mockingbird.
It’s clear that things went well and Eilish bonded with the dogs… because she made a big announcement on via her Instagram stories:
She was adopting one of the dogs!
She posted a photo of the adoption agreement, jokingly writing that she “failed at fostering,” along with a photo of the sleeping puppy.
Not only that, she successfully found a forever home for the other puppy:
Eilish plans to give her new pet a new name, but hasn’t announced one yet.
Whatever it is, we know this little guy is going to love his new forever home.
