A passerby noticed a very depressed dog chained up under a pile of junk behind a local house. The dog would sit in the sun all day as a guard dog, while his owners never showed him any love or affection.
The passerby would wonder if the dog was vicious or friendly, so one day he decided to check.

In this video, we see the man pushing his trembling fingers through the fence to pet the dog. But instead of acting tough, the dog makes the saddest eyes and lets the kind stranger pet him.
There were visible tumors on the dog’s body, so the man began thinking of ways to save him.
As the man started visiting the dog every day, the owner got a whiff of his “over-friendly” actions. She confronted him and mocked his fears about the dog’s distressed state.
She claimed that the dog has been chained for the past 15 years or so, and she intends to keep it that way.

But the man stood his ground and kept demanding the woman to release the dog. Finally, the woman gave in to the pressure and let the dog off his chains for the first time in his life!
The man named the dog “Rusty Diamond” and the pooch felt blissfully liberated during his freedom walk to the shelter!

At the shelter, Rusty received his first bath and his first medical check-up. The sweet boy recovered from various ailments with a foster family for the next few months and even made some doggie buddies.
Soon, he found a forever family of his own! We’re so happy Rusty gets to spend the twilight years of his life surrounded by love and joy!
