Pumpkin is not your average raccoon. She prefers fruit to trash, she loves taking baths, and she has 1.2 million followers on Instagram. Oh, and she thinks she’s a dog.
When Pumpkin was only 1-month-old, she fell out of a tree and into the loving hands of Laura Young. Laura’s mom, Rosie Kemp, found the tiny animal in her backyard in Nassau, Bahamas, abandoned and injured.
Unfortunately, the Bahamas Humane Society was unable to care for Pumpkin, so Laura and her husband, William, offered to adopt her. Luckily, it is legal to have a raccoon as a pet in the Bahamas, as long as the raccoon is vaccinated.
Now, three years later, Pumpkin is living the good life with the Youngs and their two rescue dogs, Toffee and Oreo. She has since amassed a major Instagram fan base, scoring thousands of likes on hilarious photos with her canine best friends.
Laura explained to BuzzFeed, “Pumpkin considers the dogs her mums.” Check out the photos below for a look at the cutest animal family in the world!
