Pug Is Being Called A Hero For Saving Family In House Fire

A pug named Jersey is being called a hero because she woke her owners up just in time to save them from a house fire.

When Kim and Tom Zaker decided to sleep in the cool basement last September to escape the heat of the day, they had no clue what was about to happen to their family that night.

A fire tore through the main part of the house above and would have trapped and killed the couple, if not for the brave actions of their little pug, Jersey.

“In my mind Jersey is my hero,” said Tom.

  1. What a horrible story! So they stayed cool in the basement and left their dog in the hot upstairs?! No wonder the poor dog was scratching at the basement door, how selfish!! I didn’t realized the dog passed away, I wouldn’t have watched the video.

  2. Are these stupid owners looking for sympathy? They are not getting one. I, as well as most who will hear about this story will only have sympathy for Jersey, the pug. He opened the door to see why Jersey was crying and scratching but he didn’t scoop her up and carry her then go back to his wife? He’s no dog lover and should spare us his act. He is selfish and should not own a dog. So he knew it was warm upstairs but left the dog there while they chilled in their basement? Incredibly selfish, pompous, idiots.

  3. I couldnt have left my babies behind. So sad. We have a 14 year old pug that looks much like the picture. He was a rescue….. Some one waited until he was 12, blind and deaf to dump him at the mall, and after 30 days was never claimed , so we adopted him. Pugs are the smartest and best little companions ever.
