Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.
When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!
HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:
“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.
The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”
More: What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car
The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.
That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.
Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

I think that should be the legal punishment…but make them wear a coat before they get in. The dogs fur makes it worth for them, they can’t take it off. People who do this should lose their dog if they are caught doing it more then once. I high fine for the first time and the punishment above. If it happens again, they are cruel and need to lose their dog forever and never able to get another.

This was exactly the right thing to do. Selfish people, she will think twice before she does it again. And so do nearly all the comments agree with the cop. If I had been him, she would have been there a lot longer!

Well lets see. Many people are angry about Trumps comments because they think he is condoning police brutality. But at the same time people think it was ok for this cop to lock the woman in a car. See the irony there???

They should do this to everyone that leave their dog in a hot car. Not for a few minutes but just the same time as they left the dog.

Personally I think its a great idea. Let them feel how our beloved furbaby feels. What they think they were only gone ten mins. Probably more to half an hour. Which they think is okay. She needed a wake up call. Does she leave her child also for so called ten minute? Seriously lady give your a head a shake.

She should have made that lady wear a thick coat as well that would have made that more realistic

The officer did not force her in the car. He simply suggested she wait in the car while he wrote her a ticket because if she thought it was OK for her dog then it should be OK for her. There is no cruel and unusual punishment here on the part of the officer. However there is cruel and unusual punishment on the part of the dog owner. Remember everyone she can open the car door at anytime and get out if it gets too hot – the dog cannot. She’s wrong. End of story.
