Police Officer Makes Woman Sit In Hot Car After She Left Her Dog In The Car

Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.

When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!

HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:

“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.

The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”

The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.

That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.

Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

  1. John Olinger maybe don’t just believe what the media and the woman claimed but watch the officers body cam footage. Funny how once she realised there was footage of exactly what happened she was “unavailable” to speak to the news reporters she’d asked for help in the first place. Use your brain

  2. Common sense is prevailing. Obviously the dumb person couldn’t comprehend the suffering they had caused to the dog, so the cop gave the person a demonstration by using them. The thing that really bothers me is that this person doesn’t show any remorse for their actions…..what happens if it was a child, their child?

  3. What she did was repulsive, but Policemen are to “enforce the law,” not “create” a new criminal justice system. Rogue actions by a person in power are criminal themselves. We must work to maintain and improve life by following a lawful Proceedure of punishment, not one based upon our emotions of the moment.

  4. It was not a “revenge” or “street justice”. It is to ask her to sit in the car and try it out since she said it was ok for the dog to do so.
Anybody would have suggested for her to try it out.

  5. Uncomfortable? Think of the dog with a fur coat!! People are ruthless, no love for their own animals, NEXT TIME SHE WILL BE CITED? She should have got a fat ticket there and been left alot longer than that to get uncomfortable like her poor dog did!!! Heartless and I feel what this cops doing is awesome! Two thumbs up to a job well done trying to get through to these stupid heartless owners!!!!!

  6. Ok Holly those dogs that are left in hot cars for even 30 mins when it’s 91 degrees outside, is their owner’s actions justified if “they are teaching the dog a lesson”? Does that make the owners actions ok? I mean seriously think about it?

  7. What a dumb$#%&!@* First she’s callous about the whole thing calling the officer “abusive”. Duh didn’t you just do the same to your dog??? Then she acts like it’s no big deal to sit in her truck for a few minutes. Try 10 min stupid. Then she contacts the News station attempting to make a spectacle of the situation when she’s clearly at fault. Typical behavior these days. Way to shirk responsibility and blame it on someone else. She’s too stupid to see she’s in the wrong.
