Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.
When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!
HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:
“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.
The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”
More: What To Do If You See A Dog In A Hot Car
The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.
That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.
Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

I don’t agree with the girl leaving her dog in truck either. True to that the cop can’t make her sit in hot truck

A yr Ago I seen a dog left in a car. I waited a while and no one came so I called and the animal control came and found the woman in the store shopping. It was only 80 degrees at the time but the officer took temp inside and it was over 100 degrees. Stupid people make me sick when they leave pets in cars. I will always call animal control whenever I see this

What the hell does politics have to do with some dumb broad leaving her hound in a car for 10 minutes where the temp reached 110 degrees?

It should be mandatory that all who leave animals or children in a hot car serve the same time in the car, which is timed by the law?

a few days ago my daughter went to a store in Big Rapids Michigan. She heard a dog barking in the car next to her. She went in the store and was back out within 10-15 minutes. the car was still parked next to her, she did not hear barking but could see dog in car. She waited there about 10 minutes. She went back into store asked them to make announcement, the employee contacted her supervisor, they said they were unable to make announcement. My daughter told them she was going to call police, she went back out to her car, called the police and was told there was nothing they could do, not illegal. Shame on the dog owners, store and laws of Michigan.

Hmmm. I’m not sure police officers should have the power to be judge jury and torturer. Dogs temperature control is totally different to humans, so it’s not even like for like. It sounds pretty sadistic to me. Of course dogs shouldn’t be left in a hot car, and yes the woman needs to learn and know better, but she is entitled to due process of law…

There is no excuse for this behavior. I carry a special tool in my car that is meant to break car windows and cut seat belts if needed. I will do that for babies or dogs trapped in hot cars. That is all.

It’s not police abuse, he simply stated that she wait in the hot car if she thought it wasn’t that bad, he didn’t force her to do it and she didn’t do it anyway.
