Puppy Abandoned In Cold Near Pond With Note From ‘Santa’ Taped To His Body

Staff at the Hurricane Animal Shelter in Hurricane, Utah, found a ten-month-old puppy who had been abandoned near Grandpa’s Pond wit ha note taped to his body.

The note, which was addressed from Santa Claus to the pound, read:

“To whom this may concern. My name is Oscar. I’m a fox hound. I’m 10 months old. No shots. I have lots of energy. Love kids. I am house trained.”

The police, along with the shelter, are currently investigating the evil person who abandoned Oscar and why they did it.

Sadly, pet abandonment around the holidays is not uncommon. During the holiday season, shelters see an increase of young animals on the streets. These animals were most likely given as gifts to people who didn’t want them or could not care for them.

“People should first go to their local animal control and see if they have a turnover policy,” Callista Pearson, of Salt Lake County Animal Services, told Fox 13.

“Abandoning the animal is not the answer. It is upsetting to see animals being abandoned. There is always a story behind it, though. It’s sad if people feel that is their only option.”

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for sweet Oscar to find a loving forever home; he has since been adopted!
