Muneca, an 18-year-old blind Dachshund, was surrendered to an animal shelter, leaving her alone and terrified. Now, she didn’t have a home, her vision, or someone to love her.
JOHN HWANG
A volunteer named Elaine Seamans went to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center in Los Angeles to visit Muneca, and was the first person to really show her love. Muneca leapt right into her arms and clung to her, never wanting to be put down.
JOHN HWANG
Photographer John Hwang was on his way to a photography shoot when he saw Seamans and Muneca. He snapped a picture of them, which was eventually posted online and went viral. The photograph showed Seamans holding Muneca in her arms, with Muneca clinging tightly to her.
JOHN HWANG
They wanted whoever saw the picture to feel a connection to it, and to feel the same way Seamans did. And it worked. A rescue group called the Frosted Faces Foundation saw the photo and wanted to get Muneca out of the shelter immediately. They took her at the veterinarian and then placed her into a foster home.

My furry soulmate crossed the rainbow bridge at 151/2. Was the last person he saw. I made sure he had a good life. Devastating without my forever dog. I have a 161/2 year old

God bless her owner n the previous owner should be fined for their inhumane act. Just when our animals needs us but obviously she’s living the good life now xoxo

I wish my dog Reese would be more accepting of other dogs. I want to have a rescue but he is just to anxious around other dogs. I’m glad Muñeca has someone who loves her

Poor little lady. I’m so pleased she found a loving mummy to love her for ever and God bless that mummy for taking her home. As for the nasty gits that gave her up, I hope their kids will shove them in the worst nursing home on the planet and leave them there with love or happiness. Damned you nasty people. You should be banned from having any dogs for the rest of their lives!

I can read the details on this dog. If she’s in Ontario, Canada, I will take her home. 2 of my 3 dachshunds went to Rainbow bridge and I miss them. I only have one left with us now.

She has the same name as my 13 year old dachshund. If people only knew older dogs are the best. Always chill, not hyper and easier to get along.
