A sick stray named Millie was found collapsed in the bushes on a murky rainy day. The poor dog was in deep pain and unable to move an inch. She didn’t even have the strength to find shelter from the rain, and just waited there hoping for a miracle to happen.

The rescuers of Animal Aid Unlimited were moved by Millie’s sad eyes. They scooped her up and rushed her to the hospital. As the doctors examined Millie’s swollen and infected body, they realized that she was suffering from an advanced case of pyometra, a highly fatal case of infection of the uterus.
Time was running out for Millie’s as her infection could progress to septicemia and kill her easily. However, her sickly body was not ready for the risky surgery. Still, the vet decided to risk the surgery, as leaving her untreated would mean certain death.

When they finally operated on her, they were horrified to see one of the worst cases of pyometra they had ever come across. There was no chance of her survival if it wasn’t for the timely medical attention. After the successful surgery, Millie’s appetite was back and her eyes gleamed with hope again.

Since Millie’s infection was so severe, it took several weeks before she was fully healthy again. Today, Millie is completely healed and ready for a forever home. Millie is glad to be alive, and her innocent, carefree smiles with the volunteers make this one of the most fulfilling rescue videos we’ve ever seen!
