After Crushing Her Nose & Stomping On Her Face, They Shot Her Snout Off

Millie the pup had a rough start in life. The stray dog born in Russia was found on the streets on the verge of death. Thanks to animal activists, she was taken in and attempts to save her life began.

Her rescuers discovered Millie had injuries consistent with being stomped on repeatedly all over her face. After stomping the innocent pup, someone shot her in the face multiple times and left her for dead. Her severe facial injuries were some of the worst rescuers ever saw.

On finding the pup, poor Millie was trying to claw away the mounds of bloodied mess all over her face. She was now safe but in dire need of medical attention and surgery.

Far away in the United Kingdom, a woman named Kasey Carlin heard about Millie’s ordeal and wanted to adopt her. After weeks of emailing back and forth with the Russian animal sanctuary who took Millie in, Kasey negotiated the transfer of Millie to her care.

Using Google translate to help with the language barrier, Kasey’s employer and the Wild at Heart Foundation helped get the dog to the United Kingdom.

Since arriving in her new home, Millie’s undergone many surgeries. Her right eye was removed and she had a new nose attached to her face.

‘It’s possible that she was hit by a car but it’s much more likely she was stamped on as her injuries are almost all on her face. There were several bullets in her too,” Kasey shared. “We’re not sure if she was used as target practice before or if someone tried and failed to euthanize her – it’s more likely to be the former sadly.”
