Juan Diego Sebastian was a kind, even-tempered man who happened to be homeless. Juan called a bench in Arcadia, Desoto County in Florida, his home.
Along with his beloved dog, Cheeto, Juan roamed the streets, collected cans, and traded them in for money so he could buy Cheeto food. He always made sure the dog ate before he did.
Sadly, an unknown assailant attacked Juan and beat him so badly that he was hospitalized with severe injuries. Despite two weeks of hospitalization and care, it seemed as if Juan was not going to pull through.

When loved ones knew the end was near, Juan’s loyal dog, Cheeto, was brought in to be by his dad’s side.
“We put Juan’s hand on Cheeto, and then Cheeto laid his head on Juan’s hand,” Tammy Ramos said. “It was the weirdest thing because tears started coming out of Juan’s eyes.”

A short time later, the man passed away. A woman who prefers not to be identified adopted Cheeto and will make sure he is a part of the community.
