Rescuers from the Feed Friends Foundation came across Jill at one of their regular feeding locations, which was sadly known as a dumping ground for dogs.
Just by looking at Jill’s neglected condition, it was obvious that she had been dumped there too. She sat in the grass, all alone amongst piles of trash. Sadly, the person who dumped her there saw her as trash too.

But she was far from trash! To rescuers, Jill was a treasure who deserved so much better.
Eventually, Jill warmed up to rescuers and realized that they were there to help her and would not hurt her like cruel monsters have in the past. She slowly walked up to one of the rescuers and placed her mangy face in her hand, as if she was asking for help.

But the mange was the least of her problem. She was also covered in ticks, had scabies, and was extremely malnourished.
They wrapped her up in a blanket and carried her to the car, where she just plopped in the volunteer’s lap and fell asleep. For the first time, she got to feel the comfort of a soft blanket, rather than the cold, hard ground.

Once they got back to the rescue center, they gave her some food, which she gobbled right up, removed the ticks, and began treatment for her skin.

They even found a loving foster for her to live in while she continued to heal. As time went on, her spunky personality began to shine.
She finally got to play with toys for the first time and meet new doggy friends. She loved going for walks and visiting the beach.

Eventually, her hair fully grew back in and she looked like a whole new dog! She was absolutely beautiful and finally had so much confidence. She was officially ready for a forever home.
It didn’t take long for Jill to find the perfect family. She now resides with her in the Netherlands and is enjoying her second chance at life!
