“What goes up must come down.” It's a common phrase that we've heard throughout our lives, and while it has a variety of real-world applications, perhaps none are more uniquely funny, or furry than this one. As explained by the National Wildlife Federation, research shows that grizzly bears are good swimmers, but it's probably safe to assume that after watching this we won't be seeing any make the Olympic high dive team any time soon.
The inherently curious nature of grizzly bears turns them into excellent explorers. Western Wildlife Outreach also highlights their intelligence and memory, “particularly regarding where food sources are located.” However, that doesn't mean this grizzly awesome memory doesn't help him remembering where to get rid of the overbearing Summer heat.
Watch as this grizzly climbs “up” the pool ladder, but comes “down” via the good old-fashioned belly flop. It's pretty likely he won't get a strong score from most of the technical judges, but as far as dives go, this wins the gold medal on the adorably comical scale. It goes without saying that it's not recommended for you to befriend a grizzly bear just to try this at home (or any other reason for that matter), but watching this splashdown is highly recommended, as is spreading this clip if you found it as awesome as I did.
