In Lima, Peru, a family was gathered to grieve, mourn, and celebrate the life of a loved one who’d just passed away.
Included with the family was the deceased person’s dog, and the sad pooch just may have been taking the whole thing harder than anyone else.
He stood up over the open casket with his paws on top refusing to leave his owner’s side.
The family tried coaxing the good boy away from the casket so that they could go home, but he didn’t want to go. Not yet.
While a tough scene to watch, this loyal dog is proof that our pets have feelings and love us unconditionally. And just like us, they can also experience grief.
It’s a hard time for this family and dog, but we’re hopeful and confident they can get through this together.
