…such as searching for drugs and explosives, searching for lost people, looking for crime scene evidence, and protecting their handlers.
The most commonly used breed is the German Shepherd. But don’t underestimate our Boxer Friends!

Jason- this dog’s name was Cliff, he was with the LaCrosse County Sheriff’s dept. his handlers actually revamped their entire k-9 program around him! He was also born in LaCrosse WI, the breeders are well known within the boxer world. Bachbett Boxers. They breed and raise German boxers.

He was a purebred German boxer. The Bachbett boxers are bred to be working dogs. Don’t let the video of him fool you though, when Cliff was “off duty” he was all about being a loving and playful family dog. After his retirement he spent the remainder of his days being a family dog.
