Police dogs, often referred to in North America as “K-9″s (which is a homophone of canine), are dogs that are specifically trained to assist police and other law-enforcement personnel in their work…

…such as searching for drugs and explosives, searching for lost people, looking for crime scene evidence, and protecting their handlers.

The most commonly used breed is the German Shepherd. But don’t underestimate our Boxer Friends!

This A-M-A-Z-I-N-G (and I repeat, AMAZING!!) German Boxer, has made over 500 arrests in less than 4 years as a police dog!!!!!!! MUCH more than most human police in their whole careers.

    This is Cannon von Bachbett. He’s 7 months old now. We’re planning to do agility, lure coursing, and tracking. He’s already proven to be drivey and focused when training, but I assure you, he is just as goofy and affectionate at home as any other boxer. He’s actually very laid back at home. I’m excited to compete with this guy and so honored to have a Bachbett dog.

    Also, while German boxers are definitely larger and heavier boned than the American lines, they shouldn’t be anywhere near 120 lbs. That is extremely unhealthy and you should stay away from breeders created boxers that size. Normal for German lines is around 65-85 lbs, some males may be slightly larger.

    Cliff Vom Grand Kevin was from my city, La Crosse WI! Not only was he born here, he was a K9 deputy with the LaCrosse County Sheriff’s department, their K-9 unit was redesigned around him!
    Bachbett boxers continues to breed awesome boxers just like Cliff!

    Lysbeth Lynn Hirsch- this dog WAS a lover, he was also a protector which is what he was trained for. This video isn’t showing you a fighting dog, it’s clips of his training, he had a bite and hold like no other. He spent his retirement as a companion. K-9s are still lovers!

    My boy is a lover, not a fighter, although I think he’d do some damage if he was mad. He is lightening fast, terrified of June bugs, and is 80 pounds of solid muscle. He will shiver like a chihuahua at the sight of any black bug. He also is a pervert and will watch everybody take showers. Boxers are hilarious dogs! 😉

    My girls are big love bug, might lick a person to death. But Ellie being my alpha female five years ago just about killed my female Doberman for no other reason but the Doberman coming in heat.

    Agreed! I’ve had many breeds and the Boxer is by far my favorite! I got him when my daughter was 6 months and she is now 7 so they grew up together. He is very protective over her, follows her everywhere. It’s amazing
